Cats Win For Kids

Last Summer, I pledged that if Kentucky beat Tennessee that I would walk from Somerset to Lexington.  The impossible happened when the Cats held off a furious rally by the Volunteers to post a 10-7 win ending a 26 year drought.

When I made the pledge to make the “Bluegrass Hike”, I knew that I wanted it to be about more than just a win or just a walk.  I wanted it to be an opportunity to spotlight an organization that does amazing work and helps thousands of kids overcome incredible obstacles just to have a normal life.

Shriners Hospital for Children is that organization and they never ask for a penny in return for their services.  My daughter was born with club feet and she’s a patient at the Shriners Hospital for Children.  I’ve witnessed first hand the amazing care given to children with long odds.

These kids and this organization need our help to be able to continue giving this incredible medical care.  The 22 hospital’s nationwide are all privately funded and they depend on our generosity to survive.

We can make a difference.  Celebrate the win by celebrating life.  If you give generously, you’ll make a difference in the life of a precious child.  Thank you.
